I have decided that by basically listing what I admired about the poem I wrote my craft analysis paper on, that this was me listing challenges in my own poetry and my own thoughts.
I realized my writing suffers from over thinking things, and being too afraid to try something new. For the remainder of the semester, I want to challenge assignments with the things I admired and the things I want to aim to convey/craft up.
Tell me what your experience was like. What do you think you'll aim to do? Got some goals for your poems?

Do you really think that your writing suffers from over thinking things? Maybe it's just me but I feel like all the great writers over think certain things--it really develops and "uniquifies" (making that word up)what you are talking about. I say, Jenn, if you want to over think something in your writing, you should totally do it. Write about how you stubbed your toe and how that led you to somehow understanding what human suffering really is, or how your life might change if you took the right path home instead of the left. I don't know if I'm exactly understanding what you mean when you say "over thinking" but I still say that it can't hurt you to go seriously in depth.
Anyway, in my analysis I said that I'd like to make more advanced poetry, stuff that has multiple underlying layers (in short). I'm still learning, I won't get it soon if at all, but that's to be expected.
Also thanks for always posting stuff, Jenn. Good thoughts.
